History of the Church

Church started on January 17th 2010 the Sunday after the earthquake on 01/12/2010.The Congregation at Delmas 28 Church Of Christ where Frere Manius Vixamar occasionally preached was completely destroyed to the ground by the earthquake. Saints and the new converts who lived in the regions such as Petition-Villes, Route des Freres, Penier and Pelerin were at a great disadvantage to find taxi (camionette) available at the time of the earthquake and prior to the natural desaster, on a normal Sunday they to take (3X taxi) one way to get to church. Saints were concerned regarding their worship and some of the new converts that Brother Manius Vixamar had recently studied with and baptized had started to go back to their previous local denomination churches because of the transportation issues. The Senior minister at the Delmas 28 congregation suggested to Brother Vixamar to start a local congregation for the Saints in Petition-villes. One the first Sunday, the church start in a house and they were four members in attendance and a visitor for a total of five people. The visitor had asked for Baptism. There was no water near for the baptism. That was one of the greatest issue to overcome. Nevertheless, we had to lease a taxi (camionette) every time there is a baptism to take prospect to and fro the river when needed no matter what time according to (Acts 2:38-48) it has to be done immediately. The following Sunday, which was the second Sunday of worship; they were 20 plus people in attendance, and one baptism, and on same day two wedding were celebrating. In the first two months, our Sunday attendance arranged from nineteen to thirty people and Wednesday mid-week Bible study attendance starts from ten and up. God has blessed us to have 2-3 baptisms per week. We continue to have frequent weddings ceremonies.

There have been a lot of demands on various things, personal evangelism work - Bible studies with individuals and different groups of demonination churches, opening up new congregations, schools and orphanages, family counseling, , financial assistance and food. The work is plenty but the laborer are few and therefore, the church had to hire an assistance minister to help some with the load.

Church Needs: financial assistance is needed for the building project In Port-Au-Prince location. To pay teachers salaries, and to support the orphanages.
